Assignment #11 Perceptual Cramp...cont.

Ok, I have completed my painting, overcome my fear, and explored something new! How do I overcome "artist block, or perceptional cramp"? I try something new accepting possible failure because I haven't tried it before. What better way to jumpstart an artistic streak than to have new tools, mediums, or methods to try!

  1. This is beautiful! I can't believe this is your first painting! (I am guessing that because you said exploring something new and overcoming your fear). The monochromatic color scheme is great and it looks just like you! What kind of paint did you use? Oil, acrylic, gauche?

    1. Dabney, this is not my first painting, its my first "white on black canvas" painting. I usually have a white canvas, a pale wash and then cover everything. To use black means a negative like white sketch (which is just weird) to guide my painting. I used acrylic, I am actually very intimidated with oil, but I intend to go back over the white with oil (God help me) to smooth everything out.
